It is a jewel of Peranakan heritage and was once the home of rubber plantation owner and philanthropist, Tan Jiak Choo, the grandson of Malaysia´s best-known philanthropist Tan Kim Seng. Today, it epitomises the solace and beauty of old world charisma presented in a hotel that is unlike any other. Carefully restored and preserved, it is a show house of the elegant Perankan manor exclusive to Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. It embodies all the distinct characteristics of manor living from a grand by-gone era. The solid ancient marble and wood, intricately carved wall panels, finely decorated stairwell, lush green Sekaya Garden and a quaint cafe are just some of the details that recreate a unique and charming ambience.
